Submit a deletion request
Send a request from the email address associated with your NexusEDU account. The prepared email asks only for the details needed to locate and verify the account.
What to include
- Your full name and the email address associated with the NexusEDU account.
- The name of your school, co-op, or learning organization.
- Which NexusEDU app you used: Admin, Kiosk, Teacher, or Parent.
- A clear statement that you want the account and associated personal data deleted.
Do not include your password, student records, incident details, or other sensitive information. If more information is needed, we will provide a safer next step.
What happens next
- We acknowledge the request and verify that it came from the account holder or another authorized person.
- When records are controlled by a learning organization, we may ask that organization to confirm what can be deleted or must be retained.
- We disable and delete the account and delete or de-identify associated personal data that NexusEDU controls, subject to the exceptions below.
- We confirm when the request is complete or explain any information that must be retained and why.
We aim to complete verified requests within a reasonable period. Timing may vary based on identity verification, organization coordination, applicable law, and backup rotation.
Information included in deletion
Depending on the account and the organization’s instructions, deletion may include:
- The NexusEDU authentication account and account identifiers.
- Profile information, organization membership, roles, family links, and notification tokens associated with the user.
- User-authored support information or app content where NexusEDU is authorized to remove it.
- Other personal information linked to the account that is not required for an organization record, security, or legal purpose.
Removing the NexusEDU app from a device does not submit a deletion request or delete the account.
Information that may be retained
Some records may need to remain after account deletion, including attendance, safety, incident, communication, audit, or other organization-managed records; information required by law; security and fraud-prevention records; and data in backups until those backups are rotated. Where appropriate, retained information is restricted or de-identified.
Your school, co-op, or learning organization may be the controller of records stored in NexusEDU. Requests to delete or correct those records may require the organization’s authorization and may be subject to its own retention obligations.
